Moscow, June 15, 2001. IV All-Russian scientific and technical conference “Pressing Issues of Aerospace Instrument Engineering and Information Technologies” opened today in Moscow. The main purpose of this conference is to increase the sci-tech level of aerospace enterprises' products and to encourage the development of scientists' and engineers' creativity. This event is organized by Federal Space Agency and supported by Russian Fund of Fundamental Research.

There are the following areas covered by the sci-tech conference:
- Space navigation systems;
- Earth's remote sensing and satellite monitoring systems and technologies. International airspace global monitoring system's project;
- Ground-based control complexes and systems;
- Onboard special systems, REE design issues, production technologies and quality assurance.
- Automated control systems, communication and relay systems, information technologies;
- Space studies systems, new space technologies.
The conference engaged 505 scientists, managers and technical specialists from more than 50 organizations of Federal Space Agency, Ministry of Defense of Russian Federation, National corporation on Nuclear Energy (Rosatom), Federal Service on Hydrometeorology and Environment Monitoring (Roshydromet), Russian Academy of Science, leading high educational institutions, like MSU, Bauman's MSTU, MEI and others.
PhD of technical science professor A. A. Romanov opened the conference.
The following reports were made during the plenary session: “GLONASS System: Current Status and Development Prospective”, “Creation of Radio Transmitter of First Artificial Space Satellite”, “International Aerospace System of Global Monitoring (MAKSM) As A New Approach To The Problem Of Natural And Anthropogenic Disasters Control And Prevention.”
Sci-tech conference will last through June 16 and 17.
